This mural, a part of the public art project was installed at the Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel Memorial in Ahmedabad(India), in 2012. It is dedicated to the “Iron man” of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who is recognized as the person behind the unification of India after the departure of British in 1947. Born and raised in a small village in the western part of India, he oversaw the incorporation of more than 550 princely states into the Indian union, thereby blocking the splitting of a country into miniature nations. This earned him the sobriquet "Iron Man of India". The trio of colours are representative of a united India that he envisioned and strived to achieve in his lifetime. This piece of art is created with an intention of chronicling and preserving historical memories for future generations.
