Title: Lotus Face
Medium: Wooden board, Metal sheets
Size: 85 x 8 x 105 cms
Inspired by the elevated status of women in ancient Egypt, this painting celebrates the strength of womanhood. Lustrous eyes and an elaborate head gear, with a face partially covered, this mural invokes a conventional picture of an exquisite, mysterious, high-society woman. Known as “Sesen” in Egypt, the lotus flower was traditionally cultivated as a symbol of spirituality and strength. Also associated with elements of purity, peace, creation and regeneration, the lotus adds colour and depth to the character of the mural.
