Title: Time (Home and Freedom)

Medium: Wood

Size: 50 x 4 x 30 cms

The passage of time determined by the movement of the Earth, is an illusion that gives us a sense of the past, present, and future. The image of an hourglass represents the ephemeral notion of time, encouraging one to practice carpe diem, breaking free from the monotony of everyday living. In this two part mural, the birds signify the inherent capacity in each one of us to fly freely into stretches of time and space. While one signifies the notion of permanence that a home evokes, the other represents movement and flight away from home. Both the art pieces speak about time and change, an inherent, unchanging aspect of human life.
