Peace is universally understood to be a lack of conflict. The concept of nonviolence (ahimsa) has a long history in Indian religious thought, with it being considered the highest dharma. Mahatma Gandhi was the first to apply it in the political field on a large scale. This work is my understanding of peace for the betterment of society and the tile used in the work is of high importance as Mahatma Gandhi once walked on it. Peaceful coexistence of the birds in my work is symbolic of the peace and unity that Gandhi signified.
