Title: Wall of Interactions

Medium: Glazed stoneware, Wood

Size: 185 x 22 x 160 cms

This mural is a community-based engagement art project I created and curated during my residency at Port Coquitlam, Canada (October 2020 to May 2021). I drew inspiration for this project from my experience as an immigrant settling into a new space. The mural consists of several square glazed ceramic tiles with a common theme of nature running through them. Truly emblematic of Canada's identity as a land that abounds in natural beauty, this is an ode to the geographical and cultural diversity of the country. Complete with a maple-leaf cut out with clay faces on it, this work represents the profound relationship that Canadians share with their homeland, and with nature that defines their history and identity.
