    We strive for a fine balance within and outside us to achieve an equilibrium that is elusive and fleeting. Humor and darkness, good and evil, resistance and acceptance, richness and poverty, sedate and dynamic, are just a few of the many contradictions that we seek to balance in our everyday lives. The sculpture portrays the polarities of joy and sadness, which, if kept in a state of equilibrium, would lead to a perfect state of mind.
